Cleaning for Baby with The Laundress

With the arrival of a baby comes much change, long nights, the sweetest cuddles, and seemingly endless laundry. And in that endless pile of laundry… new stains and challenges.

The Butler and Laundress have compiled the only list you will ever need in your early days of parenthood. Be sure to share this with all the mothers in your life.

Nursery: Clean changing tables, dressers, and drawers safely and effectively with the Surface Cleaner, a multi-surface spray. To keep items smelling nice, place Baby Drawer Sheets inside drawers and bags to infuse them with Baby scent.

Diaper pail: Clean the pail both inside and out with Surface Cleaner and a Lint-Free Cleaning Cloth to remove odors and kill lingering bacteria. For added freshness, place a Baby Drawer Sheet at the bottom of the pail. Freshen smelly diaper pails with Fabric Fresh Baby.

Bathtub: Be bath-time ready. Routinely rinse with hot water and 1 capful of All-Purpose Cleaning Concentrate. To remove lime scale buildup or pesky stains, treat with hot water and 1 capful of All-Purpose Bleach Alternative and rinse clean. This is appropriate for bathtubs of babies over 6 months.

Floor: Little ones are everywhere and get into everything, so a clean floor is a must! Use 2 capfuls of All-Purpose Cleaning Concentrate per bucket of hot water to mop and clean all floor types throughout your home.

Bottles: Wash baby bottles and sippy cups with Dish Detergent Using the Glass & Crystal Cleaning Brush to get into tight necks and bottles.

Hard Toys: Wipe children’s well-used toys with Surface Cleaner both before and after use. You can also clean (non-meltable) plastic toys in the dishwasher. Simply place the toys in a Mesh Washing Bag to keep them from getting lost and run a normal cycle using Dish Detergent.

Surface: Clean every surface before and after your baby’s touch with Surface Cleaner and a Lint-Free cleaning Cloth. This multi-surface spray is safe for baby and can be used on every hard surface in your home, including marble, granite, wood, stainless steel, chrome, nickel, and plastic.

High chair: Clean both before and after each meal with baby-safe and food-safe Surface Cleaner and a Lint-free Cleaning Cloth. For extra-tricky and sticky situations, use a mixture of 1 capful of All-Purpose Cleaning Concentrate and hot water to get the job done!

Car seat: Remove detachable fabric and treat any stains with Stain Solution. Follow by machine washing and hang to dry. Before reassembling the pieces, use a car vacuum to remove crumbs and dirt. Clean hardware, buckles, and the outside shell with Surface Cleaner. Take a photo of the car seat beforehand to help put it back together. Spray with Fabric Fresh Baby to keep clean and fresh throughout use.

Stroller: Get your stroller looking new again. Remove covers, foot muffs, blankets, and sunshades to vacuum crumbs and lint, spot treat everything with the Wash & Stain Bar: shade covers, seats, and handlebars included. For extra-tough stains, treat with a mixture of Stain Solution and All-Purpose Bleach Alternative. Launder the detachable pieces as normal and tumble dry low or hang to dry.
